Pitch_Bending_-_Mouth
Player 2

In this video clip, the saxophonist bends each pitch of the chromatic scale from D#6 to F#6. As indicated in the video recording of the throat of Player 2 during pitch bending, the tongue moves farther back in the mouth as this player lowers the pitch, and it returns to its normal position (the "i" vowel position as in "tree") as the pitch ascends. All but one of the players in the study moved the tongue in this manner in executing this technique.
