Arpeggio - Throat

The pharyngeal space is narrow in the first octave but becomes more open as the saxophonist moves through the second and third octaves. For the three highest pitches of the arpeggio (altissimo Bb6, D7, and F7), the larynx elevates (notice how the glottis appears to move toward you), the pharyngeal space narrows, and the glottis squeezes.
